Pumphouse Bar & Restaurant

I’ve read the other reviews and It looks like food is the main gripe, but on my visit food was delicious, bartenders were friendly and chatty, drinks offers were good and didn’t have to wait too long despite it being Saturday evening. It was a bit wet when we visited but still enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the world go by with a cocktail. I’d gladly go here again for the wood fired flatbread alone. Wouldn’t order the potato scallops mind you, 4 potato discs for 16aud seems a bit off What I will say however is the business model seems perfect for QR codes and yet you have to queue up and order from the bar. This discouraged me from staying longer and ordering any more drinks or dessert as I was sat up on the terrace and I’m lazy.

I recently dined at The Pump House in Darling Quarter, and my experience was a bit mixed. The chips were decent, but the pizza had an overwhelming tomato base that overshadowed other flavors. Unfortunately, the steak lacked flavor and was quite dry. On the positive side, there was plenty of seating, and the atmosphere had a nice, inviting vibe. The music was average, but what really stood out was the excellent service. Ella, our server, was fantastic, which greatly improved our overall experience.

Bar order and service which is ok. We went at lunch time and it was raining so we were only table in entire place. The food was not good at all. Steak was asked for medium rare and came out chewy and well done. The oysters didn't taste fresh at all. My friend had a stomach ache afterwards. The pizza topping was ok. But base is just pita bread ans tasted quite dry.

At the Pump House you'll get a great range of beer, wines spirits and cocktails. The food menu is a little bit limited but you'll find something to eat for sure. I had the burger and it tasted great, The pork belly is tasty as well as crispy with some veggie. A great place to get ready for a night in the town as this area is close to theaters and other entertainment areas. Plenty of room, upstairs and downstairs plus outside.
